An Open Letter

To: Sen. McConnell, Rep. Guthrie, Sen. Paul

From: A verified voter in Bowling Green, KY

June 14

As your constituent and as the son of a disabled veteran, I urge you to oppose the disability compensation offset provisions in the Take Care of America's Veterans Act. This bill's offset provisions could reduce veterans' disability compensation by approximately $57 billion over ten years and affect up to 1.5 million veterans. This seems to be part of a broader pattern of claiming support for veterans while denying them what is owed to them. I respectfully urge you to remove the disability compensation offset provisions and identify alternative funding mechanisms that do not come at the expense of disabled veterans and their families.
