Release the IRS Data on the One Big Beautiful Bill Act

To: Sen. Schiff, Sen. Padilla, Rep. Chu

From: A verified voter in Pasadena, CA

October 15

Demand the immediate release of the IRS data on the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. This report was scheduled for July, updated in September, and still hasn't been published. The IRS claims it needs Treasury approval, but former top IRS official Barry Johnson told Politico that by law, the IRS itself determines when to release the data. That makes this delay not just unusual. It looks like a cover-up. Former national taxpayer advocate Nina Olson put it plainly: "I think they are hiding stuff that doesn't line up with all the crowing the CEO has been doing." The data would show which income brackets claimed which tax breaks and how the tax burden shifted. Withholding it weeks before midterm elections, after already suppressing the tax gap report, is a pattern. The public has a right to know whether these tax cuts delivered what was promised or simply moved money toward wealthy individuals, estate heirs, and corporations. Release the data.
