Ban Masked ICE Agents — Act Now

To: Sen. Cornyn, Sen. Cruz, Rep. Roy

From: A constituent in Bandera, TX

January 26

Enough. Masked ICE agents operating in public are a disgrace and a danger. Anonymous federal officers wielding arrest and detention powers is authoritarian behavior, not law enforcement. It destroys accountability, invites abuse, and terrorizes communities by design. There is no legitimate justification for this practice. If an agent cannot perform their job without hiding their identity, they should not be performing that job at all. Masking is not about safety—it is about evading consequences. Congress has the authority to end this immediately, and your failure to act is a choice. I am demanding that you: * Introduce and support legislation banning ICE agents from wearing masks during enforcement actions. * Require clear, visible identification on all ICE personnel. * Hold public oversight hearings on ICE’s use of anonymity and intimidation. I have already called for the abolition of ICE. This letter is about the bare minimum: stopping masked federal agents from operating like a secret police force. Do not issue statements. Do not delay. Take legislative action now or be counted as complicit. I expect a direct response explaining what you will do and when.
