I am writing to express grave concerns regarding Tulsi Gabbard's nomination for Director of National Intelligence. Her refusal to condemn Edward Snowden as a traitor, past praise for Russian aggression in Ukraine under the guise of "legitimate security concerns," and disturbing ties to Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad and alleged meetings with Hezbollah officials are alarming red flags that call into question her judgment and loyalty to American values and security interests. Someone who has shown sympathy for hostile foreign powers and divulged classified information cannot be entrusted with overseeing our nation's intelligence community. For the safety and integrity of our democratic institutions, I implore you to reject her nomination.
