I'm urging you to vote NO on the SAVE Act. The Act creates unnecessary barriers to voting that amount to a poll tax and targets specific populations, such as married women like myself, subjecting us to additional costly steps to ensure we can vote. Additionally, the Act requires things like each state having to send their voting registration rolls to DHS, where DHS will use a DOGE program to scrub voters. Given the issues surrounding DOGE employees' lack of knowledge, expertise, and concern for the security of our most sensitive data, this cannot be allowed. This is a solution looking for a problem- voter fraud is vanishingly rare and if this was really just about IDs, then the government should issue one standard ID to every eligible voter. This Act does nothing of the sort and is an obvious attempt at disenfranchising large numbers of voters. Vote no.
