I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the appointment of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services under Donald Trump. Mr. Kennedy's public statements about selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and other psychiatric medications are dangerous and warrant your immediate attention. Mr. Kennedy has referred to individuals who take SSRIs as "addicts" and has suggested a link between these medications and school shootings, assertions that are not supported by scientific evidence and undermine public trust in mental health treatments. As my elected representative, I demand you push back against this madness. Please work to ensure that health policies and recommendations are based on credible scientific research. Support initiatives that promote mental health treatments grounded in sound science, protecting the well-being of all Americans. Consult with healthcare professionals and organizations to understand the dangerous implications of Mr. Kennedy's views on public health and to develop informed policy responses. Obstruct Trump and RFK in any way you can, the health of the nation is at stake and we cannot afford to entertain this quackery. The health and safety of our community depend on leadership that prioritizes evidence-based practices. I trust you will take the necessary steps to address this critical issue.
