I am writing to voice my opposition to H. Res. 7, which claims to address women’s healthcare but ultimately fails to prioritize the full spectrum of health needs women face. The resolution’s focus on Pro Women’s Healthcare Centers overlooks critical health issues such as breast cancer, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS)—conditions that deeply affect countless women’s lives. Instead of providing access to comprehensive, evidence-based care, these centers often limit services to align with anti-abortion ideologies. They do not adequately address chronic illnesses, reproductive health beyond pregnancy, or other essential medical needs. Women deserve access to unbiased, patient-centered healthcare that supports their unique health journeys—not facilities that prioritize ideology over medical care. This resolution does not advance women’s health but rather undermines it by funneling resources toward organizations that fail to meet women’s diverse healthcare needs. I urge you to advocate for policies that prioritize evidence-based, inclusive, and comprehensive care. Additionally, the language tying women’s health to men and family is deeply problematic and misogynistic. Women’s health is not inherently defined by its relationship to men or familial roles. This outdated framing dismisses the autonomy of women and fails to acknowledge their unique and individual healthcare needs. This resolution undermines women’s access to comprehensive, evidence-based care and does not reflect the lived realities of women’s health. I urge you to advocate for policies that prioritize unbiased, patient-centered care and that truly empower women. Thank you for your consideration. Women deserve better.
