Oppose any additional spending for this illegitimate war

To: Sen. Cornyn, Sen. Cruz, Rep. Van Duyne

From: A constituent in Dallas, TX

March 20

This Republican administration has requested an additional $200 billion for its needless, illegal war with Iran. It is unconscionable to spend another $200 billion bombing Iran, and killing schoolchildren, while ignoring Americans’ need for healthcare, food aid, and education. Now the administration is openly discussing sending U.S. Marines to invade Iran. How many of our servicemembers will die in this idiocy? This unauthorized war has already resulted in the deaths of U.S. service members and civilians. As someone with multiple family members in national cemeteries, I have seen first-hand how such deaths can devastate families. This war has also dangerously destabilized the region as Iran activates its proxies. As long as the Strait of Hormuz is closed, a worldwide recession is likely. Congress has a constitutional obligation to act immediately. The American people, across the political spectrum, do not want another endless war in the Middle East. You and your colleagues must stop this insanity before any more Americans are killed. My wife and I urge you to oppose any more money for this illegitimate war. We urge you to do everything in your power to end this war and protect our service members and their families.
