Reject Trump's $1.5 Trillion Defense Budget and Iran War Funding

To: Sen. Hickenlooper, Rep. DeGette, Sen. Bennet

From: A verified voter in Littleton, CO

April 3

Vote no on Trump's proposed 2027 budget and reject any funding for the Iran conflict. This $1.5 trillion defense spending plan represents reckless militarism that will harm working families in our community. A 42% increase in military spending is indefensible when it requires cutting $73 billion from education, housing, healthcare, and social services. The President himself said "we can't take care of day care" because "we're fighting wars." That's backwards. I need you to prioritize schools and healthcare over an unpopular war and wasteful weapons programs like the $185 billion Golden Dome missile defense shield. The Iran war is deeply unpopular with voters heading into midterms for good reason. We cannot afford another endless Middle East conflict funded by gutting programs that actually help Americans. Congress controls spending, not the White House. Use that power to block this budget and cut off funding for military escalation with Iran.
