I am writing to urge you to support an investigation and impeachment proceedings against Stephen Miller, Deputy White House Chief of Staff, for his recent public statements asserting that ICE agents enjoy “federal immunity” from prosecution. Mr. Miller’s comments, which were amplified by the Department of Homeland Security, dangerously misstate the law and encourage federal officers to believe they are shielded from criminal accountability. No federal statute or Supreme Court precedent grants blanket immunity to law enforcement officers for criminal acts. Suggesting otherwise undermines the rule of law and public trust in constitutional governance. Public officials must not incite or excuse unlawful violence, nor may they substitute personal ideology for settled law. I respectfully ask that you take this matter seriously and act to uphold accountability, constitutional limits on executive power, and equal justice under the law.
