A Safer Texas Through Cannabis Regulation
To: Rep. Fallon
From: A verified voter in Rockwall, TX
December 12
It’s time for Texas to end the criminalization of cannabis and adopt a modern, regulated approach that serves our communities.
Current cannabis laws are outdated and ineffective. Legalizing and regulating botanical cannabis will ensure Texans have access to safe, naturally derived products while protecting against the risks associated with synthetic cannabinoids.
While I share concerns about youth access and unsafe products, banning THC would drive this industry into the illicit market, where safety and oversight are nonexistent. Regulation—not prohibition—is the best way to protect public health and safety.
Reasonable measures, such as age restrictions, clear product labeling, and robust testing standards, can address these concerns while allowing Texas businesses to thrive in a legal market. Let’s empower the Department of State Health Services to enforce meaningful consumer protections.
Please support cannabis policies that prioritize regulation and safety over bans and criminalization.
