The Brendan Sorsby situation at Texas Tech has highlighted the dangers of the rapid expansion of online sports betting in our country. Easy access to sports betting has undermined the integrity of sport itself. It is also a vector for unethical conduct amongst public officials as seen in Cody Campbell's conflict of interest as a Regent of Texas Tech as well as the primary guarantor of Sorsby's NIL contract. I urge you to support stronger oversight and restrictions on online sports betting and to support HR9137, the Protect College Sports Act. I would appreciate a response from you regarding this matter.
