“The federal government is moving to take over the California National Guard and deploy 2,000 soldiers. That move is purposefully inflammatory and will only escalate tensions.” - Governor Newsom The fact that this statement wasn’t IMMEDIATELY followed by an official announcement that this request by the Trump administration was denied is an absolute disgrace. Californians deserve better. Angelinos deserve better. And the California National Guard deserves better. DO NOT DEPLOY THE CALIFORNIA NATIONAL GUARD. ICE is terrorizing California neighborhoods and communities. ICE is kidnapping people off the streets, gassing and assaulting protesters, and harming undocumented Californians and US citizens alike. You should be doing everything in your power to protect every Californian from ICE. The people of LA stepped up today to protect their neighbors. Across the state, Californians are trying to protect their communities from ICE. Follow their lead. Step up. STEP UP and protect your constituents from ICE.
