Do we wonder when fraud became a bad word to the GOP? Spotted in Maine, a “Stop Fraud: Vote Republican” sign. Next to it, a handmade blue sign with a big white arrow pointing to it reads: “HILARIOUS.” We the people are not convinced of their sincerity. When we read that last summer DHS paid more than $495M for a 1,600-bed prison the state of Minnesota declined to purchase a year ago for the asking price of $75M…or even “a fraction of that price.” Where’d all that money go? When we read that that Trump Media & Technology Group received $350,000 for running ads on Trump’s social media site for this summer’s Freedom 250 events. Trump rejected the congressionally-approved nonpartisan America 250 organization designed to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Trump owns 41% of Trump Media & Technology Group. When we read that Flávio Bolsonaro’s escape from Brazil to Miami turns out to have been arranged, in part, by WH officials including Trump advisor Jason Miller. Who arranged for a charter jet to take the Bolsonaros from Argentina to Florida. The NYT reports that Trump himself ordered the State Department to give temporary status to Flávio Bolsonaro and his family on humanitarian grounds. US officials told the reporters that the government will likely grant them permanent residency later. Brazilian authorities had asked him to give up his Brazilian passport because he is under investigation for laundering more than $1B through an online gambling scheme. And financial irregularities involving a bank regulators shut down for fraud. When he didn’t turn in his passport as requested, Brazil cancelled it. So apparently our government helped smuggle him into our country illegally. And now we’re gonna give him legal residence. So when you read the hysterical chorus on the right going on about one nefarious fever dream after another, please remember that they are masters of projection. That numerous examples can usually be found within their own ranks of behavior they project on to their political foes. And the current scream of FRAUD would be just the tip of the iceberg. Remember…they’re just priming the pump for Tuesday… Happy Halloween. And VOTE!!!
