Prioritize people over profits and DON'T support these corporate giveaways!

To: Sen. Dondero Loop, Assembly Member Kasama

From: A constituent in Las Vegas, NV

November 7

It has come to my attention that there is a special legislative session being called this month here in Nevada. Lombardo's Crime Bill and the Film Studio Bill are not what Nevada needs right now. This special session’s agenda is supposed to be to pass the film tax credit and Lombardo’s crime bill, prioritizing corporations and profits, not people. These bills failed to pass the regular session. The film tax credit would give movie studios our tax dollars over the next ten years. The crime bill will increase incarceration with regressive, outdated 'tough on crime' policies that I suspect would more than likely fuel socioeconomic and racial bias. If Nevada can afford to give tax credits to rich corporations such as movie studios then Nevada can afford to give state approved ACA premium tax credits for its citizens! The film tax credit and crime bill are not urgent nor a priority.
