Reverse VA policy allowing discrimination against veterans now

To: Rep. DeLauro, Sen. Blumenthal, Sen. Murphy

From: A constituent in Guilford, CT

June 17

The policy from the Trump administration allowing VA doctors to discriminate against and deny care to veterans based on marital status, political affiliation, or other factors is unconscionable. All who served in uniform have sacrificed for this nation, regardless of personal identities or beliefs. They deserve the highest quality healthcare our country can provide, not discrimination. This divisive edict betrays our moral obligation to support those who defended American values. Trump and his operatives must immediately stop discriminating against competent VA employees based on political affiliation and other characteristics. Reversing this unacceptable and un-American directive must be an immediate priority to uphold our sacred commitment to veterans. We cannot allow political biases to undermine the vital services owed to those who put their lives at risk protecting us all.
