The president should not be allowed to circumvent the constitutionally-mandated process of advice and consent by making recess appointments. Recess appointments undermine the system of checks and balances and concentrate too much power in the hands of the executive branch. I urge you to prevent any and all attempts by the president to make recess appointments, as such appointments would represent a dangerous overreach of executive authority and an erosion of the Senate's advise and consent role.
