Stop the Excuses—Pass a Budget and Speak Out
To: Sen. Schmitt, Sen. Hawley
From: A verified voter in Kansas City, MO
October 3, 2025
Why are you refusing to work with Congress to pass a budget? Every day this shutdown drags on, military families are forced to struggle without pay while Members of Congress—including yourself—continue to collect a paycheck. How is that fair?
Even worse, federal agency websites are posting statements blaming Democrats for the shutdown. This is a blatant violation of the Hatch Act, and yet you remain silent. Silence is complicity.
This administration continues to break the law and you say nothing. We voted for you to represent all Missourians, not to protect the President or his party. Meanwhile, the President spends all hours of the night posting deranged AI videos online—an embarrassment to the nation and deeply disturbing to see from a Commander-in-Chief. Why aren’t you speaking out about this?
The American people deserve a functioning government and leadership that values the truth. We are demanding that you stop hiding behind excuses, speak up, and do your job: pass a clean budget, call out these violations, and put the people you represent above partisan politics.
