Protect Women’s Bodily Autonomy and Medical Privacy

To: Rep. Roth, Gov. Whitmer, Sen. Bumstead

From: A constituent in Beulah, MI

February 2

This letter urges Michigan lawmakers to oppose any law or policy that tracks menstrual cycles, monitors pregnancy, or treats women and girls as state-controlled reproductive resources. Women and girls are full legal persons with inherent rights to bodily autonomy, medical privacy, freedom of movement, and freedom from surveillance or coercion. Lawmakers should publicly oppose measures that enable reproductive monitoring or control and support clear legal protections affirming women’s full autonomy, privacy, and personhood.
