Congress has remained largely silent about the concerning situation regarding Elon Musk's unchecked access and influence within the federal government. Despite the clear conflicts of interest and lack of transparency surrounding Musk's role and his allies embedded across agencies, there has been minimal public Congressional oversight or demands for accountability. This apparent unwillingness to exercise checks and balances over the executive branch's opaque restructuring efforts is an abdication of Congress's constitutional responsibilities. Given the potential for misuse of taxpayer funds, ethics violations, and undue private interests shaping public policy, Congress must urgently investigate the extent of Musk's involvement and any improper commingling of his corporate interests with government operations. Robust hearings and rigorous scrutiny are imperative to protect the integrity of democratic institutions and public trust. The current hands-off approach is alarmingly negligent in safeguarding against overreach that could undermine core principles of good governance. Congress has a duty to the American people to provide truly independent oversight during this precarious situation. Their continued silence is an unacceptable dereliction of duty with far-reaching consequences for the nation.
