I write in near desperate hope that two former military officers and three sitting members of Congress can put Pete Hegseth's proposal to broadcast a murder to a less brutal but no less certain end. There's no way to put the genie back in the bottle. The fact that he even said it aloud has done irreparable damage to our nation, and we all know neither he nor his patron will ever apologize for it. So it's up to the rest of us to contain the damage, and I'm asking you for two things. First, anything and everything you can do to make sure that execution isn't filmed, much less shown to anyone else ever. Second, Hegseth out. He's a sick, incompetent goon, and if the murders already committed in his name weren't evidence of this, I'm not sure what else you need to see.
