Support Workman's Comp for Educators.

To: Sen. Beasley, Gov. Ivey, Rep. Blackshear

The well-being of educators is crucial for ensuring a quality education system. Requiring teachers to pay out-of-pocket for on-the-job injuries, and then navigate a lengthy reimbursement process through the Board of Adjustment, places an undue burden on these dedicated professionals. The proposed "Mary Anne Leonard Educators' On-The-Job Injury Act" addresses this issue by providing compensation benefits and medical coverage for full-time education employees injured while working. This bill recognizes the sacrifices educators make and ensures they receive fair treatment and support in the event of workplace injuries. Too many teachers have been failed by the current system, and this legislation aims to rectify that. I urge you to support this bill, as it prioritizes the well-being of our educators and acknowledges the invaluable role they play in shaping the future of our students and communities.
