An open letter to the U.S. Congress

The murder of George Floyd

8 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!

The incident where Minneapolis police killed George Floyd is an outrage. We need to call it what it is- a murder. This man was unarmed, and the crime he allegedly committed was nonviolent. If anything, this man needed help and resources based on his alleged crime. Instead of helping him, our system killed him. And it will continue to pick apart his life until the American people are convinced that it was justified. And these officers will go free, because America. These officers need to be fired immediately- you don’t even need contextual evidence from what happened to know that kneeling on someone’s neck is wrong. It would never have happened to a white man. Protect and serve? More like Judge and Jury. Only there are no fair trials when it comes to being black in America. Please stand with me in calling for the arrest of these "peace" officers. When will this end? #blm #blacklivesmatter
