Protect the free market, & Please protect access to safer alternatives

I am writing as a voter and taxpayer urging you to oppose S.1253 which would make vaping less accessible to people who need these products the most - people who smoke. Age verification platforms already exist which make this law unnecessary. Prohibiting the USPS from delivering vapor products will force legal-age consumers to pay extra for an unnecessary layer of age verification. Ensuring that young people are not purchasing age-restricted products is an understandable priority for everyone, but S.1253 will only make it more difficult for law-abiding consumers of legal sales age to access safer alternatives to smoking. Young people will still have access to these products through informal sources and social media (the same sources responsible for selling illicit THC cartridges linked to thousands of lung injuries). Arguably, this legislation will make these black market sources more popular and expose consumers of all ages to more risk. Thank you for considering my comments.
