Both Every American depends on the US Postal Service for something. For example, you couldn’t send mail to your constituents without it. The Dept of Commerce couldn’t conduct the census without it. Your Senatorial and Congressional colleagues couldn’t solicit campaign contributions without the USPS. Tens of millions of Americans couldn’t file their income taxes without the USPS. Tens of thousands of non-profit NGOs couldn’t solicit the funds to assist millions of our least fortunate citizens. In short, ALL Americans depend on the reliability of the USPS to communicate and conduct commerce with each other, including President Trump. The USPS is in financial trouble, and President Trump is adding to the problem because he has a problem with the Washington Post, which is owned by Jeff Bezos. Donald Trump is acting out in a childish, short-sighted manner that doesn’t serve you, me, him, or the rest of the country. And, I hasten to point out that Trump knows absolutely nothing about how or why US Postal package rates are set. Yet, he insists that the USPS doesn’t charge Amazon enough; not because he actually knows what the rates should be, but because of his peevish attitude about Jeff Bezos and The Washington Post. Please act in the interest of all Americans by initiating or Co sponsoring legislation to “rescue” the USPS. Your constituents and all Americans are depending on you to act in the interest of the country, not Trump’s petty squabbles with Jeff Bezos.
