I am saddened and frankly disgusted that Senator McConnell couldn't wait even an hour after the announcement of Justice Bader Ginsburg's death to release a statement regarding her replacement. As an active voting constituent of your district, I am insisting that you remind the Senate Majority leader of his own words: "The American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice. Therefore, this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new president." If this truth was enough to block Obama's appointment of Judge Garland in 2016, then it's more than enough to stay any nomination of a future Supreme court justice until after the November election. Do not allow these precedings to continue until after the American people have had their say.
