Thank you for closing the schools. Please consider implementing restrictions on bars and restaurants, as they have done in other states with large cities (Illinois, California). There will be an economic impact, but restricting bars and restaurants to takeout only may allow them to stay open, while limiting spread of the virus. Allowing things to get much worse will result in all-out closures and lockdowns, which will have a far worse economic impact. We must learn from the experience in Italy, and we cannot rely on individuals to self-censor, based on the crowds of St Patrick's Day revelers seen in Center City today. As a physician who cares for children with cancer (and as a human with elderly loved ones), I am appalled by their selfishness. We are at a point where government intervention is required to protect us all from a true disaster.
