210K DEAD. NOT FROM FEAR.

Greetings. I am a voting constituent in rural west Texas. The bumper stickers just keep writing themselves. Today’s entry fresh from the Twitter feed of DJT. “Don’t be afraid of Covid.” It’s not necessary to point out the hypocrisy of a person who has access to the best of everything...doctors, exotic pharmaceuticals, new therapies, experimental drugs. Who has Marine One to whisk him anywhere he needs to go. And who has countless minions in essential duty jobs to cater to his unmasked self...telling us to not be afraid of Covid. This after I just finished reading an article about a not-old NC elementary school teacher who started exhibiting symptoms, immediately went into quarantine, and died a couple of days later. Do you think her family is comforted by the President’s words? We are afraid of Covid because it is a disease of Russian roulette. It might be your turn. And it might not be. And I’m pretty sure it’s hard to not be scared dealing with such uncertainty. Even Mr. Trump who has had a charmed life up until now, may not have earned his confident hindsight just yet. He may be out of the hospital but he may not be out of the woods. I don’t understand the endgame of your side of the aisle trying to convince us that we have nothing to fear but fear itself. I don’t understand the willful disregard for the 210K American citizens who have died. Not from fear. From Covid.
