Greetings. I am a voting constituent in rural west Texas.
Reading about the brewing desperation of our fellow citizens left without jobs, left without healthcare, left without hope. People are going hungry. People are about to lose housing. And our vast army of unemployed have lost the small $600 cushion that was the firewall between all of that.
Why is your party so unempathetic? $600 a week to help our citizens, our country, to survive. To help them survive because our federal leadership failed on every measure in addressing the pandemic for the citizenry.
Why get all fiscally responsible right now? It rings hollow given the past 3 1/2 years.
And it’s the very least you can do.
But what do we get instead? A presidential tweet.
“We have more cases because we have tested far more than any other country, 60,000,000,” Trump added. “If we tested less, there would be less cases.”
This is the leader we have.
For now.
In the meantime, grab your cojones and do the right thing for the people. We need help. And you have the power to turn despair into hope.
And god knows we need it right now.
