I am writing in regards to the death of Kayli Jefferson Henkel. She was a young woman who served as an airman with the Travis Air Force Base, here in Fairfield, California. She was from Vacaville, California originally. I am absolutely appalled at her story. Kayli was found with a broken neck, blackened eyes, acid poured over her genitalia indicating possible sexual assault, and many other injuries that were indicative of a murder. Yet, the solano county coroner and the base ruled her death a suicide. Her mother was not granted access to seeing her body for eleven days. What if that was your daughter or sister or wife? Her mother requested an autopsy, and was denied, even after offering to pay for all the expenses. She has requested time and time again that her case be reopened and investigated properly, yet she has never had her requests met. I firmly believe that Kayli Jefferson Henkel was murdered and that the Travis Air Force Base covered this up, along with Vacaville Police Department. We have marched to them and demanded justice, to no avail. We need intervention from our senators, from our congressmen, and/or from the FBI. We need NATIONAL attention. We need to apply the pressure. Black lives matter. Kayli’s life mattered. She died over a year ago and still has not received justice. I am writing to implore you to investigate this and hopefully bring light to this case somehow. Please demand that she receive justice.
Thank you
