Stop Supporting Permitless Concealed Carry in Tennessee

Whatever has possessed your mind to think this is a good idea, Governor. Promoting and / or passing this legislation is irresponsible and reckless. If you sign any legislation that allows untrained, unlicensed individuals to conceal or open carry loaded firearms in TN will increase the danger to your constituents of an accidental shooting. It will increase the incidence of stolen or dropped guns that can subsequently be used by criminals. If your goal is to make TN a more dangerous state you’re well on your way to doing that. I strongly urge you to pull back your support of this legislation and to tell TN legislators that you’ve realized what a bad idea it is. Remember these two facts: 1. 88% of Americans think you should get a permit before carrying a concealed handgun in public. 2. 80% of gun owners, non-gun owners, REpublicans, Democrats, and Independents agree that high safety standards are critical in issuing concealed carry permits. Stop supporting this legislation and act like someone who cares about the health, safety and well being of ALL Tennesseans.
