Save the USPS.
The USPS is the lifeline of this country. It guarantees that no community is too small, too rural, or too isolated to be out of touch. Mail carriers deliver to every address in this country.
It delivers vital, life-preserving medications. It delivers care packages to our aged parents and faraway college students. And it delivers ballots for those fortunate enough to have voting by mail.
You want to show your love for small businesses? Save the postal system that allows them to do business. It costs no more to deliver a letter package 3,000 miles than it does to deliver it 30 miles. It is a God-send for low income people and families who cannot afford UPS or FedEx.
It also is the “last mile” delivery service for UPS and FedEx. Where those two for-profit businesses can’t or won’t go, the USP *Service* does.
It is the largest employer of veterans and the disabled in this country.
It is a bastion of civil liberties. The USPS requires a warrant to open a piece of mail. FedEx and UPS do not. And it does all this without getting a penny from taxpayers.
You keep telling us how much you love the Constitution. You know what service is mandated by the Constitution? The USPS. It’s in there.
Save the postal service. Your party has caused enough damage to a beloved institution. Now it’s time to save it.
You keep talking about bailing out businesses. Fine. Bail out the postal service. Save it.
Or explain to your constituents in rural, isolated communities in Texas why Grandma can’t get her medications delivered to her door any more.
