I understand Governor Cuomo is trying to slash Liberty Defense Project funding to zero from the NYS budget. This is the bulk of the NYS funding for direct representation of non-detained immigrants, including asylum seekers, and it provides some funding for representation of detained immigrants as well. This is a HUGE component of NY's ability to provide for immigration-related legal needs. Please don't let this happen.
