Wait until after Inauguration Day to appoint a new Supreme Court justice

As a patriotic American, I demand that the Senate refuse to consider appointing a new Supreme Court justice until after the inauguration of our newly elected president. The stakes are just too high for our government to move ahead with this momentous decision at this time. Amy Coney Barrett deserves to receive the same careful examination as all SCOTUS lifetime justices are subject to. This country has been seriously fractured by the current totally incompetent leadership. Trump is a proven sham of a person. We all know trump wouldn’t nominate someone unless he knew for sure that she will reverse more civil rights and freedoms that we treasure as U.S. citizens than any previous court would even consider. Ruth Bader Ginsburg is a National hero! Don’t replace her with an evangelical zealot who lives in a patriarchal community totally outside the mainstream of current cultural progress. She will endanger the lives of all of us by cutting off our access to health care, reproductive rights, LGBT rights, and other civil human rights that are essential to humanity and to life in a modern society. If you hold a vote on Barrett’s nomination before Inauguration Day, you will fracture American life in a way it will not recover from for decades. We have already been severely diminished by the incompetent trump administration. It will already be a huge job to build back better all the Trump has already destroyed. Please protect our country’s increasingly fragile unity from an appointment to SCOTUS of a woman with only three short years of experience. If you confirm this nomination in the next few weeks, I will hold you personally responsible for undermining our nation’s future and the future of all the people who will suffer under this decision.
