The Trump administration has ordered that all COVID 19 data from hospitals bypass the Center for Disease Control and instead be sent to a White House database. This is unacceptable. Pulling more resources and data from the experts will only prolong our ability to decrease the rate of infection, which is currently setting alarming new records every day, and create even more confusion and disorder while schools are determining whether or not to open. Furthermore, it allows for data to be withheld from the public or politicized, something that has already occurred far too much during this pandemic and has been a large part of the USA's absolute failure of a response. This order needs to be loudly opposed and instead there should be more pressure on the White House to coordinate a better response using information from experts and other countries that have been successful. Do not let the Whitehouse divert the data from the experts who can help our nation.
