Support "Ending Qualified Immunity Act"

Dear Representative, Illinois has introduced the “Ending Qualified Immunity Act” and I want you to support it. Under “qualified immunity”, police are immune from liability unless the person whose rights they violated can show that there is a previous case in the same jurisdiction, involving the exact same facts, in which a court deemed the actions to be a constitutional violation. This along with strong police unions keep the police above the law without recourse. This must change. I urge you to support this bill and change the landscape of policing in this country. Thank you.
