PPE for Healthcare Workers

I am a member of Indivisible CA33. I’m writing today to ask that you urge Donald Trump to use his authority and leverage the Defense Production Act to mass-produce much needed medical supplies. We must manufacture tremendous amounts of PPE, test kits, and ventilators to save lives and to meet the challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic. My mom is a retired pediatrician, and she has volunteered to help at the hospitals should they become overwhelmed and need additional support. She is over 65, and the thought of her having to go take care of patients without appropriate protection and supplies is terrifying to me. We need to protect our healthcare workers. Please do everything that you can to make sure that people are taken care of during this. This is not the time to take an extended recess. Congress must work to get us through this crisis.
