The environmental impacts of continued fossil fuel use are severe and well-documented. By maintaining these subsidies, we are enabling unnecessary production and exacerbating climate change. Instead, we should be investing in renewable energy sources that can provide clean, sustainable power for our communities. I urge you to take the following actions: 1. Support legislation to phase out all fossil fuel subsidies over the next five years. 2. Redirect the $30 billion currently spent on fossil fuel subsidies towards clean energy research, development, and implementation. 3. Introduce policies that incentivize the transition to renewable energy sources for both businesses and consumers.
