GOP CONGRESS SHOULD STOP SUPPORTING TRUMP’S WAR ON DEMOCRACY

How do you feel watching bulldozers tear into the White House? If that can happen without input, or objection, from apparently anyone, what else is going on that the country is unaware of? Talk about the perfect metaphor for the Trump administration. Between the demolition of a symbol of Democracy and the video posted of a president literally dropping sh*t bombs on the citizens of the country he leads, these visuals speak louder than all the lying words we continue to hear. He’s shown he’s doesn’t want to be president of the citizenry; he is just the leader of an increasingly unpopular cult. He’s not even particularly Republican. He uses the GOP as means to an end. He says he’ll use the current shutdown to hurt Democrats, but we all see that it hurts the GOP base and red states more than anyone. He’s slowly taking control of major American businesses by making deals for profit-sharing, which sounds suspiciously like socialism. He rewards subservience in the guise of loyalty. He is surrounded by American oligarchs, whose loyalty is to their bottom line. Pay to play. Doesn’t this sound kinda Russian? He’s bullying universities, the media, lawyers, courts, our cities, the GOP Congress, and the world. It’s a constant assault by the federal government on foundational principles. He’s randomly designating anything he wants as an enemy of the state, and has been granted all the power that goes along with that to punish as he deems necessary, all for the good of the country. He’s managed to make ‘antifascist’ a dirty word. Does that mean Republicans support fascism instead? You should remember that the worst act of domestic violence in our lifetime was perpetrated by anti-democracy extremists on Jan. 6 at our Capitol. Trump supporters attacked police, smashed windows, defaced the halls of Congress, and carried the flag of traitors (the Confederacy). Trump pardoned all of them, including the most violent criminals. Is that the event the GOP prefers our history books to celebrate? Instead we get to hear how ‘anti-fascist’ defines the millions who turned out for ‘No Kings Day’ on Saturday to pay tribute to democracy, free speech, nonviolence, empathy, the rule of law, and our Constitution. Someone needs to use a dictionary and look up the definition of the word y’all now consider an insult. Americans who fought in WWII were anti-fascists. Were they misguided? No matter. The shutdown continues. The working class suffers. The Congress is stalemated. But the president continues his world travels, his bullying intimidation of other countries and leaders, maybe even a war or two, and building of his crowning achievement…a golden ballroom. He’s not bothered. However there is one thing y’all could do while we wait…get the Speaker to bring the House back into session so the Epstein files can be released. Surely Prince Andrew shouldn’t be the sole scapegoat to be held accountable, when it’s our government that might hold the key to further justice.
