An open letter to the President & U.S. Congress; State Governors & Legislatures
“We agreed to an immediate Ceasefire on all Energy and Infrastructure.”
1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!
I have always marveled at your bold declarations, especially when you stated, “If I were president, this war never would have happened,” and your assurance that you could end the conflict in Ukraine “in one day.” These statements resonated with many of us who wonder about your unparalleled negotiation skills you constantly talk about.
Therefore, recent events have left me puzzled. Before your scheduled call with President Putin, Russian television aired footage of him making light of the upcoming conversation, even keeping you waiting for over an hour. This behavior seemed to undermine the gravity of the situation and your efforts to broker peace.
Following your conversation you said “We agreed to an immediate Ceasefire on all Energy and Infrastructure .” Yet reports indicate that Russia launched drone and missile strikes targeting Ukrainian infrastructure, including hospitals and power stations. This escalation occurred despite the anticipation that your direct engagement would lead to immediate de-escalation.
Given these developments, I am seeking clarity on the outcomes of your discussion with President Putin. How do you plan to address these challenges and fulfill your commitment to swiftly end the conflict?
“My phone conversation today with President Putin of Russia was a very good and productive one. We agreed to an immediate Ceasefire on all Energy and Infrastructure, with an understanding that we will be working quickly to have a Complete Ceasefire and, ultimately, an END to this very horrible War between Russia and Ukraine. This War would have never started if I were President! Many elements of a Contract for Peace were discussed, including the fact that thousands of soldiers are being killed, and both President Putin and President Zelenskyy would like to see it end. That process is now in full force and effect, and we will, hopefully, for the sake of Humanity, get the job done!” Trump
