EMERGENCY: STOP THE PENTAGON'S ATTACK ON AMERICAN FREE PRESS
2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!
This is not a political complaint; this is an urgent demand to defend the foundation of our democracy. The government and the military work for the American people, and we have a Constitutional right to know what they are doing.
Right now, the Department of Defense (DOD) is deliberately trying to hide the truth about our military operations and spending from you and every citizen you represent.
The DOD has imposed new, restrictive rules that essentially force journalists to publish only information that the military has pre-approved. Ask yourself: when the people you pay to watch the government are forced to use only the government's own talking points, is that honest reporting, or is it a cover-up?
This new policy destroys the essential watchdog role of the free press.
In an act of censorship, professional news organizations—including The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Fox News—have been handed a list of restrictive, anti-free-speech rules, and they’ve refused to sign. For standing up for journalistic integrity, their access to the Pentagon has been revoked.
Who is replacing them? The DOD is granting access to overtly partisan outlets and commentators, such as Lindell TV (the MyPillow guy’s channel) and Russian asset Timcast.
This is not an expansion of viewpoints; it is the establishment of a hand-picked propaganda team designed to protect the government and tell the public only what the Pentagon wants them to hear. This shocking exchange—replacing established journalists with political loyalists—is an attack on your right to know about the safety of our troops, military failures, or how your tax dollars are being spent.
You swore an oath to uphold the Constitution. Your silence on this issue is an endorsement of censorship.
I demand you use your full power as my elected representative to immediately:
1. Publicly denounce this abuse of power by the DOD.
2. Force the Department of Defense to rescind this censorship policy immediately.
3. Restore press credentials to all professional news outlets who stand by their constitutional duty to report the full truth.
Your failure to act makes you complicit in hiding the truth from the American people.
I expect an immediate and detailed public response outlining your steps to correct this grave threat to our democracy.
