An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Preserve the presidential records act (PRA)!

13 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

Preserve the presidential records act (PRA)! The Department of Justice declared that the PRA exceeds Congress's powers and infringes on the executive branch's control over its documents. White House lawyers instructed staff to follow new guidelines focused on discretionary preservation and deletion of what they want to hide. There is a 50-year tradition of treating presidential records as property of the United States with public access via FOIA. We deserve transparency and this administration needs to follow the law!
