SB12 Will Hurt Texas Kids, This Is Not What Texas Stands For. Reverse It

I’m embarrassed to live in a state where lawmakers just voted to ban student clubs focused on LGBTQ identity. I’m ashamed of those who supported this cruelty disguised as governance. Senate Bill 12 isn’t about parental rights. It’s about silencing LGBTQ kids. If you’re going to eliminate clubs for LGBTQ students, then shut them all down, every student group, every extracurricular. Because targeting only these clubs is blatant discrimination, plain and simple. According to The Trevor Project, LGBTQ youth who have affirming school environments are 45% less likely to attempt suicide. Removing these safe spaces isn’t just wrong. It’s dangerous. You’ve sent a strong message to kids across Texas that they don’t belong and that who they are is a problem. That message leads to depression, bullying, and death. And for what? To score political points? This isn’t leadership. It’s cowardice. Reverse this ban and reinstate all student clubs. If you don’t stand up for every child in Texas, then you have no business representing us.
