I am writing as your constituent to urge you to oppose any language in the final Appropriations or funding package that would ban low-dose, hemp-derived THC beverages — products like Wynk THC Seltzer that are already legal and responsibly regulated in many states.
These beverages are safe, tested, and clearly labeled, offering adults 21+ a low-dose, sessionable alternative to alcohol. They have created economic opportunities for farmers, small businesses, and communities while giving consumers access to a healthier, more inclusive social option.
In the United States, low-dose, hemp-derived THC beverages are helping to sustain rural economies, provide new revenue streams for struggling farmers, and create jobs in manufacturing, distribution, hospitality, and retail. This is an American innovation success story! An outright ban would abruptly shut down this momentum, harming small operators and ceding opportunity to international competitors.
Banning these products would also take away consumer choice and reverse the progress states have made in establishing thoughtful regulations that protect public health and safety. Worse, it would risk pushing consumers toward unregulated or illicit markets, undermining the goal of keeping people safe.
I believe in smart, consistent national standards for low-dose, hemp-derived THC beverages, including age-gating access, potency limits, testing requirements, and responsible marketing guidelines. But prohibition is not the answer.
Please stand with your constituents, small businesses, and farmers by contacting House and Senate Leadership: Rep. Mike Johnson, Rep. Steve Scalise, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, Rep Tom Cole, Rep Tom Emmer and Senator John Thune, Senator Chuck Schumer to oppose any Appropriations language that bans low-dose hemp-derived THC beverages.
Adults deserve the right to choose safe, regulated products that work for us and contribute meaningfully to our economy.
