Vote NO on KOSA

I’m writing today to urge you to vote NO on the so-called Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA). While it’s being sold as a measure to protect children, this bill is a serious threat to free speech, open access to information, and critical thinking — especially for young people. KOSA would give the government and tech platforms sweeping new authority to decide what content is “appropriate” or “safe,” opening the door to censorship, viewpoint suppression, and politicized control over what youth are allowed to see or learn. It doesn’t stop harm — it just reshapes who gets to decide what’s acceptable. This is not about safety — it’s about control. The bill would: • Encourage platforms to filter out politically or culturally sensitive topics under vague guidelines. • Limit access to global viewpoints and real-world news, cutting youth off from understanding the world around them. • Create a backdoor for government-approved messaging, chilling dissent and indoctrinating youth into narrow, sanitized narratives. Young people deserve the freedom to explore, learn, and engage with the world. KOSA is a direct attack on that freedom. If we care about raising informed, critical thinkers — not just obedient citizens — this bill must be rejected. Please do the right thing. Vote NO on KOSA and stand up for free speech, open access, and the rights of young Americans to think for themselves.
