An open letter to the President & U.S. Congress

Vote no on the Restrict Act

3 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

Banning encryption only further erodes our individual rights to privacy. Sending people to prison for decades only makes private prison owners wealthy while diminishing and impoverishing our communities. Imprisoning people for actions that were legal when undertaken is The act of a FASCIST government. I'm deeply ashamed of the members of Congress who cosponsored the Restrict Act. I pray you will stand up for what is right and reject this move into authoritarianism. Ban TikTok, but also ban Facebook. Hell ban Google, and Amazon and every company who creates apps that track us and use our information and information about us to sell us useless crap, or who target us psychologically to get us to click again and again, and serve us dark awful content designed to enrage and frighten us. But do not ban VPN. You will break business. You will break privacy. You will guarantee that womeb and minorities of all kinds will suffer more, die more, and be subjected to more abuse. Please prevent this horrifying bill from becoming law.
