An open letter to State Legislatures (Wash. only)

No Masks For Law Enforcement

11 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

Federal immigration officers are arresting people on our streets, in churches, in schools, and in court rooms. They often don’t wear a uniform, don’t display a badge and don’t display their name. They often wear face masks to hide their identity. This behavior leads to a lack of accountability and transparency and only serves to increase public distrust of federal agents. SB 5855 has been proposed to address this matter. It says, “A law enforcement officer shall not wear a facial covering while interacting with the public in the performance of their duties. “ It has some exceptions for certain situations but it is important that we have this legislation in our state to protect all of us. I want you to actively support SB 5855 and make sure it passes to protect all of us.
