Oppose Pardons for January 6th Convicted Extremists

I am writing as a concerned American citizen to urge you to uphold your oath to the Constitution and stand firm against any effort to pardon members of the Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, and other extremist groups convicted for their roles in the January 6, 2021 attack on the United States Capitol.
The convictions handed down against these individuals were the result of thorough criminal investigations, jury trials, and due process under the American legal system. Leaders of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers were convicted of serious charges including seditious conspiracy, obstruction of an official proceeding, and conspiracy to prevent officers from discharging their duties. These were not minor infractions — they were coordinated, organized attacks on the peaceful transfer of power.
Pardoning individuals convicted of sedition and conspiracy against the government would send a dangerous message: that political violence carries no real consequences. It would undermine the credibility of our courts, dishonor the law enforcement officers who were beaten and injured that day, and embolden future actors who might seek to disrupt democratic processes by force.
I urge you to publicly oppose any executive pardons for individuals convicted of crimes related to January 6th.
Use your legislative authority to make clear that Congress stands behind the integrity of the judicial process.
Speak out on behalf of the Capitol Police officers who defended the
building and the constitutional process that day.
Reaffirm your commitment to the principle that no one — regardless of political affiliation — is above the law.
The foundation of our republic rests on the rule of law and the peaceful transfer of power. When those principles are violated through coordinated, armed insurrection, the consequences must be real. To erase those consequences through clemency is to rewrite history and weaken the institutions that protect every American.
I respectfully ask that you stand on the right side of history. Uphold the law. Honor the courts. Protect our democracy.
