I have known you since my children were young—you spoke at Indian Springs when my daughters were attending—and I found you to be fair-minded and supportive of diversity. Today, I was saddened to learn that the drag story time event scheduled today had to be cancelled because of safety concerns. These concerns were exacerbated by the apparent lack of concern by the police, council, and your office. How am I supposed to feel safe in our city any longer when it is clear that you don’t care about me or my family?
It goes without saying that I’m disappointed, but I want to make it very clear that because of this negligence, I also feel afraid. I hope this never happens to you or your family. It’s terrible to feel unsafe in one’s own home.
