An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Support Delegation to CECOT

7 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!

It is concerning that individuals have been deported from the United States to El Salvador's notorious CECOT prison without due process, based on unreliable allegations and limited ability to challenge their removal. While elected officials have been granted access for potential publicity purposes, denying a congressional delegation the opportunity to conduct legitimate oversight and verify the well-being of detainees, including U.S. legal residents, is unacceptable. This apparent double standard undermines principles of transparency and human rights. A system that allows deportations without thorough vetting and then restricts independent monitoring raises serious ethical and legal questions that demand answers through proper Congressional channels. Enabling such practices erodes the nation's commitment to justice and rule of law.
